1Information we collect
Information you give us
- Order information — name, email address, phone number, shipping address, billing address, the products you buy, and any gift message you write.
- Payment information — your card or wallet details are collected and processed by our payment processor. We receive only a confirmation, the payment method type, the last four digits, and the billing address.
- Account information — if you create a customer account, your login identifier and saved addresses.
- Marketing sign-ups — the email address (and, if you provide one, the phone number) you submit through our pop-ups, footer form, or at checkout.
- Business and quote requests — company name, role, contact details, order quantities, and anything else you enter in our quote form.
- Reviews and other content you post — your review text, rating, display name, photos, and any content you submit publicly.
- Affiliate and creator applications — contact details, social handles, audience information, and the payment details needed to pay commissions.
- Support communications — anything you send us by email or through a contact form, including attachments and photos.
Information we collect automatically
- Device and connection data — IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device type, screen size, language, and referring URL.
- Usage data — pages viewed, links and buttons clicked, products viewed and added to cart, time spent on pages, scroll depth, and how you moved through checkout.
- Session recordings and heatmaps — we use a session-replay tool that records how you interact with pages (mouse movement, clicks, scrolling, and page content). It is configured to mask text you type into form fields, but you should not enter sensitive information into free-text fields.
- Approximate location — city, state, and country inferred from your IP address. We do not collect precise GPS location.
- Advertising and analytics identifiers — cookie IDs, pixel IDs, click identifiers appended to links from ads (for example, gclid, fbclid), and similar identifiers.
- Email engagement — whether you opened an email we sent and which links you clicked.
Information we receive from others
- Advertising and analytics platforms — aggregated and, in some cases, individual-level reporting about which ad or campaign led to your visit or order.
- Fulfillment and shipping partners — delivery status and tracking events.
- Payment processor and fraud tools — authorization results, chargeback notices, and risk signals.
- Marketplaces — limited order and contact information when you buy from us on a marketplace.
- Referrals — if an affiliate or creator refers you, the referral identifier attached to your visit.
What we do not collect
We do not knowingly collect Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, precise geolocation, biometric data, health information, union membership, or information about your race, religion, sexual orientation, or political beliefs. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for the purpose of inferring characteristics about you.

We keep each category for the periods described in Section 8, How long we keep your information.
3How we use your information
- Process, fulfill, ship, and confirm your orders, and handle returns, exchanges, and warranty claims.
- Communicate with you about your order, delivery, or a support request.
- Send marketing emails, if you have asked to receive them.
- Operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the website and checkout.
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and other unlawful activity.
- Measure the performance of our advertising and understand which campaigns produce sales.
- Build audiences and show you (and people like you) ads on other websites, apps, and platforms.
- Personalize what we show you on the site and in email, including product recommendations and offers.
- Run our affiliate and creator programs, including attributing referrals and paying commissions.
- Comply with our legal, tax, accounting, and record-keeping obligations, and enforce our terms.
4Cookies, pixels, and similar technologies
We and our providers use cookies, pixels, tags, SDKs, local storage, and server-side event forwarding. Server-side forwarding means that some information about your activity (such as a purchase and a hashed version of your email address) is sent from our systems directly to an advertising or analytics platform, in addition to or instead of being sent from your browser.
| Type | What it does | Can you turn it off? |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Keeps you logged in, remembers your cart, secures checkout, prevents fraud | No — the site will not work without these |
| Functional | Remembers preferences such as region and whether you have dismissed a pop-up | Yes, through your browser settings |
| Analytics and performance | Measures traffic, checkout drop-off, site errors, and records sessions and heatmaps | Yes — see the opt-outs below |
| Advertising and targeting | Measures ad-driven conversions, builds audiences, and shows you ads on other sites and apps | Yes — see Your Privacy Choices |
Your choices
- Global Privacy Control. If you visit our site with a GPC signal enabled, we treat it as a request to opt out of the sale and sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising for that browser and device. Learn more at globalprivacycontrol.org.
- Our opt-out page. Submit a request through Your Privacy Choices.
- Your browser. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Blocking cookies may break parts of checkout.
- Ad platform settings. You can adjust ad personalization in your Google, Meta, Amazon, and other platform account settings.
- Industry opt-outs. Visit optout.aboutads.info or optout.networkadvertising.org. These are cookie-based, so you will need to repeat them on each browser and device.
- Mobile devices. Use "Limit Ad Tracking" (iOS) or "Opt out of Ads Personalization" (Android).
Opting out of targeted advertising does not stop you from seeing ads. It means the ads you see are less likely to be based on your activity with us.
5How we share your information
We do not sell your personal information for money. We disclose it to the following categories of recipients:
| Recipient category | What they receive | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Ecommerce and hosting platform | Everything you submit through the site and checkout | Runs our storefront, checkout, and customer accounts |
| Payment processing | Payment credentials, billing address, order amount, device and fraud signals | Authorizes payments, handles refunds and chargebacks, screens for fraud |

| Email marketing platform | Email address, name, order history, on-site activity, engagement history | Sends the emails you signed up for and our order-related messages |
| Analytics and attribution providers | Device and usage data, session recordings, order and conversion events | Measures site performance and which marketing produces sales |
| Advertising platforms and networks | Cookie and device identifiers, hashed email address and phone number, page views, and purchase events | Measures ad performance and shows you ads on other sites, apps, and connected TV |
| Reviews, on-site messaging, and gifting tools | Name or display name, email address, order details, review content | Collects and displays reviews, sends gift messages, and runs on-site offers |
| Affiliate and creator platforms | Referral identifiers, order values, and affiliate contact and payout details | Attributes referrals and pays commissions |
| Accounting, tax, and business operations | Order and transaction records, and limited customer details | Bookkeeping, sales-tax calculation and filing, and financial reporting |
| Professional advisors | Whatever is relevant to the engagement | Legal, accounting, and insurance advice |
| Legal and safety | Whatever is legally required | To comply with law, respond to lawful requests, enforce our terms, or protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others |
| Corporate transactions | Customer and transaction records | If we are involved in a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may transfer as part of that transaction |
Representative providers we currently use include Shopify (platform and payments), Klaviyo (email), Google, Meta, Amazon, and other advertising platforms (advertising and measurement), Microsoft Clarity (session replay), Triple Whale and ThoughtMetric (attribution), Amazon Multi-Channel Fulfillment, ShipStation, and national carriers (fulfillment and shipping), and Intuit QuickBooks, Finaloop, and Numeral (accounting and sales tax). Our providers change over time; this list is illustrative, not exhaustive.
We require our service providers to use personal information only to perform services for us, and not to sell it or use it for their own purposes. Advertising platforms may act as independent controllers of the data they receive and use it under their own privacy policies.
6"Sale," "sharing," and targeted advertising
We do not exchange your personal information for money. However, when we allow advertising and analytics partners to collect identifiers and browsing activity through our site in order to show you ads elsewhere, that activity may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, or "targeted advertising" or "cross-context behavioral advertising," under California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas, Oregon, and other state privacy laws.
The categories involved are: identifiers, commercial information, internet or network activity, approximate geolocation, and inferences. They are disclosed to advertising platforms and analytics and attribution providers.
To opt out, use Your Privacy Choices, enable Global Privacy Control in your browser, or email support@boxblayde.com. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.
7Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights:
- Know and access — what personal information we have collected about you, where we got it, why we collected it, and who we disclosed it to.
- Delete — ask us to delete the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct — ask us to fix inaccurate personal information.
- Portability — receive a copy in a portable, machine-readable format.
- Opt out — of the sale or sharing of your personal information, of targeted advertising, and of profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects. (We do not engage in that kind of profiling.)
- Limit sensitive information — we do not use sensitive personal information for purposes that trigger this right.
- Non-discrimination — we will not deny you products, charge you a different price, or give you a lower level of service because you exercised a privacy right.
- Appeal — if we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision or emailing us with "Privacy Appeal" in the subject line. We will respond within the time your state's law allows, and will tell you how to contact your state attorney general if you disagree with the outcome.
How to exercise your rights
Email support@boxblayde.com with the subject line "Privacy Request," or write to us at the postal address in Section 18. Tell us what you are asking for and include the email address or order number you used with us. You can also use Your Privacy Choices for advertising opt-outs.
Verification. To protect your information, we will ask you to confirm details we already have on file — typically the email address used to place an order, plus an order number or recent order details. We cannot fulfill a request we are unable to verify. We will not use the information you provide for verification for any other purpose.
Authorized agents. An agent may submit a request on your behalf with written permission signed by you. We may still contact you directly to confirm the request and verify your identity.
Timing. We will acknowledge your request within 10 business days and respond within 45 days. If we need more time, we will tell you why and take up to an additional 45 days. Opt-out requests are honored within 15 business days.
California Shine the Light. California residents may request information about personal information we disclosed to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes in the prior calendar year. We do not currently disclose personal information for that purpose.
8How long we keep your information
| Information | Retention |
|---|---|
| Order and transaction records | At least 7 years after the order, to meet tax, accounting, and warranty obligations |
| Customer account information | For as long as your account is open, and then until you ask us to delete it |
| Marketing contact and engagement records | Until you unsubscribe, and then only as needed to honor your opt-out |
| Support and warranty correspondence | 3 years after the matter is closed |
| Website analytics and advertising identifiers | For the period configured in each tool, generally no more than 26 months |
| Session recordings | For the short retention period set by our session-replay provider, generally 30 days |
| Reviews and other content you post publicly | Until you or we remove it |
We may keep information longer where we are required to by law, or where it is needed to resolve a dispute, establish or defend legal claims, or enforce our agreements.
9Marketing and other communications
Email. We send marketing email only to people who asked for it. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom, and you can also email us to be removed. Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop transactional messages about an order you placed — order confirmations, shipping notices, and support replies.
Phone. We use the phone number you provide at checkout for delivery notifications from carriers and to reach you about an order or support issue. We do not currently send marketing text messages. If we begin sending them, we will collect separate opt-in consent first, and you will be able to reply STOP to any message to opt out.
10Reviews, public content, and on-site notifications
If you submit a review, your rating, review text, any photos, and the display name you provide are published on our site and may be syndicated to shopping and advertising platforms. Do not include information in a review that you do not want to be public.
Our site may display recent-purchase notifications — for example, a message noting that someone in a particular city recently bought a product. These notifications show only a first name or initial and a general location, never a full name, address, contact details, or order value.
11Affiliates, creators, and referral links
If you join our affiliate or creator program, we collect the contact, tax, and payout details needed to track referrals and pay you, and we process them through our affiliate platform. If you reach our site through an affiliate or creator link, we record the referral identifier so the referrer receives credit for a resulting order. The referrer sees aggregate performance and commission data, not your name, address, or contact details.
12Third-party sites, marketplaces, and social media
Our Services link to sites we do not operate — including our listings on Amazon and our profiles on social platforms. Their collection and use of your information is governed by their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their practices. If you buy from us on a marketplace, that marketplace controls the transaction data and shares only limited information with us.
13Children
Our Services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child under 16 has provided us with personal information, email support@boxblayde.com and we will delete it. Our products are tools with replaceable blades and are not intended for children.
14Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and reliance on established platforms for payment processing. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and any regulators as required by law.
15Where we operate
We are based in the United States, and we store and process personal information here. Some of our providers operate in other countries, so your information may be transferred to and processed outside your state or country, where privacy laws may differ. Our Services are directed to customers in the United States. If you are shopping from another country through one of our international storefronts, additional local terms may apply to you.
16Accessibility and alternative formats
If you have a disability and need this policy in an alternative format, email support@boxblayde.com and we will provide one.
17Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our practices, our providers, or the law changes. We will post the updated version here and revise the "Last updated" date. If the changes are material, we will provide additional notice — for example, by email or a notice on the site — before they take effect. Your continued use of the Services after an update means you accept the revised policy.
